Team History: In reponse to the growing numbers of younger Titans joining the team, and the growing tensions between the more experienced, older members, it was decided that an attempt to split the team into two would be more beneficial to all than attempting to remain in the increasingly cramped quarters on Titans Island; especially in the wake of the devastating attack wrought on the Tower by Deathstroke and his cronies.

As an established hero in Philadelphia, Jesse Quick was first to propose her city as a new base for Titans East, which would enlist more of the senior members of the Titans and give the younger Titans enough space without feeling as though their mentors were constantly breathing down their necks. Funded by Quickstart and the various dummy corporations funded by the Grayson Foundation, the new base is more like a compound than a tower, encompassing many facilities both above and below ground and boasting teleport functionality, forensic and technical labs, and a jet hangar. Titans East is dedicated more to community involvement, supporting projects such as urban revitalization, state orphanages and hospitals, and assisting local law enforcement and emergency personnel, even though the city of Philadelphia is somewhat ambivalent about their presence.

Both teams are separate but maintain interoperability; frequently swapping younger members from the West Coast in and out of the rotation in order to better build team relations and experience, and to prevent any conflict between the two groups.
