Powers and Abilities : Adam is an archaeologist by trade, and possesses a thorough knowledge of archaeological facts (both for
Earth and for
Rann) and techniques. He has developed a keen sense for tactics as
Rann's planetary champion, as well as formidable hand to hand combat skills with a focus on aerial combat using a jetpack. Physically, he is an ordinary human being, reliant on technology for extraordinary feets. He commonly wears a spacesuit, jetpack, and energy blaster of Rannian design.
History : Surrounded by hostile natives during a South American archaeological dig, Adam Strange was facing certain death - until fate intervened. Struck by a Zeta-Beam - the brainchild of Rannian scientist Sardath - Adam was transported to the planet
Rann. There, in the planet's low gravity and amidst its sterile culture, the compartively brash Earthman became a planetary champion. He fell in love with Sardath's daughter, Alanna, but could not live his life on
Rann - the energies of the Zeta-Beam would always eventually wear off, sending him suddenly back to
Earth to await the next beam. Despite the distance that separated them most of the time, Adam and Alanna did marry, and have a daughter named Aleea.
Though his heroic career primarily took place on
Rann, Adam did occasionally don his spacesuit for adventures in the universe at large, especially against threats that might potentially menace his adopted sometimes-homeworld. He also, on a few occasions, enlisted the help of
Earth's heroes for
Rann's troubles - calling in the
JLA to help him deal with threats he couldn't handle alone. Adam is considered an honorary member of the Justice League.
