Base of Operations : Oa; formerly Slyggia, in Sector 1418.

Powers and Abilities : As do all Slyggians, Salaak possesses four arms, allowing him to attend to several manual tasks at once. As a member of the
Green Lantern Corps, he possesses a Green Lantern power ring. The power ring is capable of nearly any function the user can imagine, provided the user has the focus and willpower to direct the ring to enact it. Most commonly, it used to generate solid light constructs that can be used for offense or defense; to gather, record or retrieve data; or to enable the user to traverse hyperspace at faster than light velocities.
History : Salaak was a long-time veteran of the
Green Lantern Corps when
Hal Jordan first came to the organization. The stoic and orderly Slyggian did not care for Jordan's brash, impulsive manner. In the wake of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, when the
Green Lantern Corps was left decimated, Salaak did join Jordan and several other Lanterns (including Ch'p,
Kilowog, and
Arisia) on
Earth for a time. When the Corps was destroyed again, Salaak's ring was destroyed as well. He spent some time as a captive of interstellar slavers, along with other former Green Lanterns.
In the wake of the latest rebirth of the Green Lantern Corps, Salaak was back where he belonged - amongst his fellow Lanterns. He often services as proxy for the Guardians, conveying messages to individual other Lanterns. He also is the official keeper of the Book of
Oa. It is unknown whether he still patrols Sector 1418 actively, or if his duties on
Oa prevent him from doing so.
Other Sources :Divergences : Diverges at Identity Crisis #1, though the subsequent events of Green Lantern : Rebirth took place in much the same fashion as in the DCU.
Notes : Salaak's name is spelled inconsistently, even in official sources. The alternative spelling is 'Salakk'.
