Powers and Abilities : Roulette is a mathematical genius, specializing in calculating odds and gambling winnings. She is extremely wealthy and possesses many security measures, from the array of hired henchmen and mechanical minions to more exotic deathtraps and automated security devices. She has no known abilities, but was able to resist psychic influence from
Dr. Psycho. It is implied that Roulette has some failsafe or minion that can negate certain metahuman abilities..
History : The granddaughter of a villainess who frequently clashed with the original Mister Terrific (and seduced his brother, Ned), Roulette inherited her grandmother's legacy and established a metahuman Fight Club, 'The House'. Capturing metahumans with her unique teleporter technology, Roulette pitted her prisoners against each other while her eager clientele gambled on the outcome. Many metahumans lost their lives in The House, including Impala, Maxi-Man, Ram of the New Guardians, and some members of the Hybrid.
Roulette's House crumbled like cards around her when she captured the
Justice Society and pit them against each other. While this venture was initially successful and in fact earned Roulette more money than she had made in her entire career, the JSA members eventually broke free of Roulette's games and came after her. Using her advanced technology, Roulette escaped.
Following her clash with the JSA Roulette targeted other superhero teams, such as the
Teen Titans, always managing to use her technology and allies to evade capture. Following the destruction of The House at the hands of
Per Degaton, Roulette went underground for a time, but has since re-emerged at the head of a new arena, this time having partnered with the
Mirror Master. Rather than capture metahumans, Roulette's most recent scheme has been to pit Mirror Master's hard light copies against one another. So far, her operation has been enormously successful.
Roulette's security recently repelled a certain
cat burglar.
