Powers and Abilities : Gerard has the ability to break his body apart into a massive cloud of dust, to which he can manipulate with ease. Primarily, he compresses his dust back into physical form, or near-physical form, to deliver blows from multiple angles and distances. He also has the ability to animate the bones of the dead with his own dust. With the ability to break his body down into dust at a moment's notice, Dust is believed to be impervious to physical harm. The range of his control is roughly two hundred yards. He is also a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, proficient in the use of various martial arts.

Weaknesses : Dust's greatest flaw is any abundance of liquid substance while he is in his dust form. The added mass weighs him down and makes his dexterity more difficult. Piecing himself back together while wet is also dangerous, because he could very well trap excess water (or whatever liquid is on him) inside of his body. He is also susceptible to physical attacks while wet (because the dampness would make it more difficult to break down his body to evade a punch or a kick, or even an attack from a weapon). Elemental abilities such as fire, ice, and so forth are also very effective against him.

History : Born in Belfast, Ireland, Gerard O'Reilly moved to Star City at a young age. His parents brought the family to America, wanting a new start. As a child, Gerard was a handful, picking fights with his classmates and constantly testing his limits with his parents. At the age of eight, Gerard discovered his metahuman abilities, and immediately began using them for his personal gain. Six years later, Gerard murdered his parents and fled his home, living on the streets and shunning contact with others.

Gerard kept a low profile for his teenage years, living quietly and taking what he wanted. On the cusp of adulthood, he met a metahuman martial artist, who took him under his wing and mentored him until he was twenty-six. Gerard's activities following this are unknown up to the point where he recently returned to Star City, targeting speedsters at the behest of an unrevealed employer.
