In 2007, one of our players was suspended by LiveJournal for alleged offenses relating to copyright infringement (not related to our community.) They suspended every one of his journals - using his email address as the determination criteria to figure out which journals were his. All of his roleplaying journals used for our community were suspended, as well as one of our so-called 'utility' journals.
Unfortunately, when a LiveJournal user is suspended, any posts or comments they've made become blocked, and impossible to read. This has resulted in some posts on our community that are missing or damaged. Happily, the LJArchive tool seems to be able to work around the 'block' on reading posts by Suspended users, so we do have HTML copies of all the affected posts. As time permits, we occasionally take a few of them and 'restore' them as best we can, by essentially re-enacting them - with one of our current players standing in for the suspended former player.
The player in question had journals for
Major Disaster,
the Shade,
the Joker,
Lex Luthor,
Deathstroke,
Brainiac Five, and
Aquaman. He also created our utility journal for Metropolis NPCs. So if you are researching the history of one of these characters, or another character who interacts with them frequently, you may see a lot of 'Reply from Suspended User' messages. If the scene is an important one for you to read, you can contact the moderators of the community for an HTML copy.
We've also begun to post the HTML copies of those scenes as attachments to the character Wiki entries, beginning with Deathstroke.
