Team History: The Legionnaires appearing in the Watchtower are essentially the post-Zero Hour Legion, taken from a point in their history after their fight with Mordru, but before the encounter with the Blight and the subsequent 'Legion Lost' arc. Slight variations have been incorporated - such as Tenzil Kem as a reservist.

The Legion's interaction with the 21st century in Watchtower continuity includes the 'Final Night' storyline from the mainstream DCU. Their second major interaction with the 21st century began with Brainiac Five - experimenting with a time bubble, Brainiac Five found himself tossed out of the timestream by the temporal chaos generated by the Operation : Chaos plotline on Watchtower. His efforts to return home proved futile - the timestream had seemingly shifted due to the changes wrought, and when he visited the 31st century, he found that alternate versions of his Legion colleagues existed there. (The so-called 'Threeboot' Legion.) The timeline had changed, and Brainy had been left behind.

His scientific efforts continued in the 21st century, however - and he made an interesting discovery. The Legion - his Legion - had sent a rescue expedition for him in a second time bubble, before the timeline had shifted. That bubble had been diverted, and the rescue party trapped outside of time. He made this discovery almost by accident, when he managed to pull Triad out of the extradimensional space where the other Legionnaires were held. Brainiac Five began to work on efforts to save his other colleagues.

Meanwhile, outside space and time, Lyle Norg (Invisible Kid I) had observed Triad's disappearance from the strange temporal prison they'd found themselves in. (They, meaning the whole Legion - someone or something had subtly manipulated the flow of time, duplicating the timeline of the rescue party in the second bubble, so that several variations of the rescue party existed.) Realizing what had happened to Triad, Lyle adjusted the transmitter on his Flight Ring to initiate primitive communications with Brainiac Five across the time barrier.

Brainy was then able to rescue Lyle in the same manner as Triad - unfortunately, whatever power had generated the extradimensional prison then took steps to prevent any further escapes.

The displaced Legionnaires had been residing in Titans Tower, but the conditions were growing crowded. Lyle and Brainy put together a proposal for the Justice League, soliciting permission to reclaim the remnants of their old satellite headquarters. Since then, they've retrofit the old Justice League Satellite with the best technology they can construct from the primitive materials available to them, including a stellar-energy power-source designed by Lyle with assistance from Ted Knight (Starman I).

Their efforts to rescue their colleagues continue - but even if they succeed, the Legion doesn't seem to be able to go home again.
