Composed primarily of reformed villains, the team's public relations message was tinged with a theme of redemption and second chances, matching Luthor's own pledge to walk the straight and narrow. The group had several successes defending Metropolis from a variety of metacriminal activity, and assisted members of the Justice League on a few appearances.
Infinity Inc's powerhouse, the mysterious Miracleman, ultimately proved to be a liability - he was revealed to be a Daxamite sleeper agent who had been placed in Luthor's unwitting custody by the sorcerer,
Mordru. When Mordru activated Miracleman's subconscious programming, the Daxamite went berserk, engaging
Superman and the
JLA in a drawn-out battle that badly damaged downtown Metropolis. That rampage resulted in the death of Lex's daughter, Lena, and it remains to be seen if he will choose to keep the team together.
