Powers and Abilities : Rory is an ordinary human being who possesses an in-depth knowledge of pyrotechnics and combustibles. He suffers from pyromania, and cryophobia. He uses special equipment in his criminal career, including a fireproof suit, and a handgun-sized flamethrower weapon.
History : Rory is one of the Rogues, the loose affiliation of villains that often menace Keystone and Central City, and find themselves in opposition to the Flash. Like Captain Cold and Mirror Master, Heat Wave's main motivation seems to be profit - using his fire motif to enrich himself through robbery and extortion. His criminal career originally saw him opposing Barry Allen (The Flash II) but he has gone on to be a regular foe of Wally West (The Flash III) as well. He's had several flirtations with reformation, but the lure of crime and flame always seem to draw him back in.

Divergences : Zatanna never reformed the Top in Watchtower's history, so Rory's periodic reformations were entirely on his own merit. Otherwise, diverges at Identity Crisis #1.
