Powers and Abilities : Supernatural beings both, Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar are relentless killers unphased by pain or injuries. They do not rest, they do not tire, and they do not stop - period - until their objective has been accomplished, that objective usually being murder. They are trackers of paranormal excellence, never losing track of their quarry once they have acquired 'the scent' (which may in fact be a secondary sense as they can track their quarry across continents and even other dimensions). They possess vast superhuman strength, far greater than even that of most metahumans, and their senses are all far in excess of normal human senses. Finally, they both have a natural knack with any weapons they lay their hands on.

History : From time immemorial Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar, the duo that make up the 'Old Firm,' have gone to and fro on the Earth, walking up and down in it, and practicing their gruesome trade. "Nuisances Eliminated, Obstacles Obliterated, Bothersome Limbs Removed, and Tutelary Dentistry." Dwelling in the shadows and the swamps, the Old Firm have taken countless commissions over the ages, each one involving the destruction of life and property. They are consummate businessmen, honouring their agreements to the letter, and never stopping until their contracts are fulfilled. Rumors speak of the Old Firm having a connection with the demonic entity Neron.

For many ages now the Old Firm has been bound to London Below, a parallel world coexisting within and beneath the city of London. Recently however that bond has been broken, and the Old Firm has been freed to practice their craft around the world, as they once did in darker times.
