Interested in joining our community? Spotted an available character you'd like to play? Here's how you join.
First, visit
this page. It contains a good set of instructions for how to apply, which I will summarize here.
For a "canon" character - meaning someone who exists in the DCU - you need to give us the following :
- Character Name - So we know who you're applying for.
- Player Name - So we know what to call you.
- Over 18? - We are reluctant to accept applicants under the age of 18, because of mature subject matter that may appear from time to time.
- E-mail Address - So we know how to get in touch with you.
- New Character LJ name (if already created) - So we know what journal to invite to the community.
- Base of Operations - Where the character operates normally.
- Sample Post - So we can see how you write. More on this in a moment.
You can apply by composing a comment in reply to the application page linked above, or email the application directly to the moderators.
For an "original" character, we require additional information. Please also note that we only allow people to apply for
Original Characters if they already have a canon character in the community.
- Physical Description (face, build, weight)
- Abilities
- Weaknesses and Flaws
- Alignment (villain, hero, etc)
- Relatives (living or dead)
- Backstory
We try to respond to all applications within one day to acknowledge our receipt of the application, but final acceptance or rejection takes a
minimum of 24 hours, under optimal conditions. Usually, it will take a few days, as our moderators each have their own lives to attend to. Applications are approved or rejected by a simple majority vote of the moderator team. In the case of characters which have close personal relationships to existing PCs, we may consult with the players of the related PCs for feedback on the application. Sometimes the sample post won't cover something we consider important for the character, and we will request an additional sample.
We also require that, upon approval for a character, that a player must demonstrate activity with that character, and must wait at least two weeks, before applying for another character.
A player may have no more than ten characters in his or her roster for this game.
Upon final approval or rejection of an application, we will email the applicant to let them know the outcome, and we will generally screen the application comment to minimize clutter on the application page.
