History : The already strong Albrecht Krieger was genetically altered by his scientist father in his youth, and developed into the "perfect specimen" in order to fight for Adolf Hitler and the Axis Powers in World War II. With his only upbringing being one of pure unbridled indoctrination into the Nazi regime, belief in the Aryan master race, and seeing Hitler as his version of God, Krieger became Captain Nazi; one of the most despised supervillains in the world.
When he was starting out as Captain Nazi, Krieger murdered any bystander that even looked at him in the wrong way. One of these bystanders was a man called Jacob Freeman;
Freddy Freeman's grandfather.
Put into suspended animation after the war, he was released in the mid 90s to continue his reign of terror on the world. Captain Nazi's abilities had seemingly grown during his time in stasis, festering like sore wounds, and when he struck back against the world that had rejected him, and his causes, he did so with a vengeance. The combined might of
Captain Marvel and
Black Adam secured the nigh-unstoppable Captain Nazi in Alcatraz, although rumours persist that he is as often flying free as he is in his cell.
Other Sources :Divergences : In DCU canon, Captain Nazi has been killed on multiple occasions since his release from stasis. The
Red Hood killed him by putting a taser in his eyes, and
Black Adam likewise killed him by smashing him into the ground with the strength of the Gods. Nevertheless, Captain Nazi always returns, as he has become an embodiment of Nazism, rather than a man in a costume. In Watchtower continuity. Captain Nazi is still Albrecht Krieger. For now.
