Powers and Abilities : Boodikka is a formidable warrior with combat experience in aerial vehicles as well as hand to hand martial arts - a formidable opponent even without her power ring. As a member of the
Green Lantern Corps, she possesses a Green Lantern power ring. The power ring is capable of nearly any function the user can imagine, provided the user has the focus and willpower to direct the ring to enact it. Most commonly, it used to generate solid light constructs that can be used for offense or defense; to gather, record or retrieve data; or to enable the user to traverse hyperspace at faster than light velocities.
History : A former member of an all-female mercenary squad, Boodikka demonstrated the willpower and ability to overcome fear that made her an ideal candidate for the
Green Lantern Corps. Trained by Lanterns
Kilowog and
John Stewart, Boodikka became one of the fiercest fighters in the Corps.
When
Hal Jordan went rogue and planned to absorb the power of the Central Battery to re-create
Coast City, Boodikka was one of the Lanterns forming the final line of defense between Jordan and
Oa. Boodikka was no match for the maddened Jordan's willpower - he defeated her and took her ring, severing her hand. He left her a protective aura to prevent her from dying in space and proceeded to destroy the Central Battery.
Boodikka survived being marooned in space, though. The Manhunters, longtime enemies of the
Green Lantern Corps, gathered Boodikka and the other fallen Lanterns that Jordan had defeated in his rage and took them captive, intent on using them against the Green Lanterns at a future time. When the Corps was reborn, the Manhunters made their move, using the so-called "Lost Lanterns" as bait for their former colleagues. Ultimately, the Corps was triumphant and the Lost Lanterns were rescued - though, needless to say, there remains some resentment amongst them towards Hal Jordan. Boodikka has since resumed her duties, and uses her ring to generate a replacement for her lost hand.
