Powers and Abilities : Ryan Choi is a brilliant scientist, with a knack for creative thinking. He has studied martial arts and gymnastics, and is a fairly adept hand to hand combatant. Primarily, Ryan relies on a shrinking belt, utilizing white dwarf-star matter, that enables him to reduce his size and/or mass.

History : Ryan Choi was a long-time pen pal of the American scientist Ray Palmer. When Ray was apparently killed, Ryan received pre-arranged instructions that brought him to America, and led him to take on the mantle of the Atom. When it was revealed that Ray Palmer was still alive, Ryan suspected his life would return to normal - but that has yet to happen. Due to personal emotional trauma and the apparent murder of his ex-wife, Ray submitted himself to the authorities - leaving Ryan to act in his stead as the Atom.

Ryan currently acts as a JLA reservist, and scientific consultant.

Divergences : Diverges almost completely. Ray didn't have the prolonged disappearance in Watchtower that he'd had in the DCU, and Ryan hasn't had contact with any of the familiar faces from his subsequent DCU series.
