Important Plots : Crisis in Eternity

Powers and Abilities : Laurel possesses the standard suite of Daxamite abilities, virtually identical to those possessed by Kryptonians, such as Superman. She has flight, invulnerability, super-strength and super-speed, enhanced sensory powers and heat vision. In addition, exposure to a space anomaly left her with energy-manipulation abilities, the extent of which are unknown.

Weaknesses : Daxamites are vulnerable to lead; it affects them much the same way that Kryptonite affects Kryptonians. It interferes with their powers and can cause death with sufficient exposure. Laurel makes use of a special serum to negate her lead vulnerability. Red solar radiation, while not directly fatal, can drain the stored solar energy from their cells and leave them weakened or powerless.

History : Born on Daxam of the 31st century, Laurel was raised by an enclave of the White Triangle cult, a Daxamite sect believing strongly in racial purity. Her beliefs acquired from the sect would later cause conflicts with her duties, after she became an early member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. The conflict finally reached its zenith when agents from her homeworld used her to acquire a serum immunizing them against the effects of lead (which is typically deadly to Daxamites). Finally having had enough, she turned on the manipulative Ambassador Roxxas, and they were both seemingly destroyed when their battle breached an atomic furnace.

She had not died, though. Instead, after surviving the inferno, she exiled herself into space, seeking some kind of penance for her acts. Ultimately, she found solace and acceptance in a new, peaceful religious order.

Recently, Andromeda was trapped, along with the rest of the Legion, in the 21st century. She, along with the majority of the membership, had fallen under the sway of Mordru. A team of heroes including her Legion colleagues Triad, Invisible Kid, and Brainiac Five were able to free Andromeda and the other Legionnaires from Mordru's control, and defeat the sorcerer. Subsequently, the Legionnaires were able to return to their own time.

Divergences : The Watchtower incarnation of the Legion is the post-Zero Hour Legion, with a few small modifications. Andromeda's inclusion here posits her return to the Legion as a reservist in the variant 31st century.
