Ambush BugThis is a featured page

Ambush Bug defies description!Aliases : Irwin Schwab, Dweeb of the Lesser Endless
Base of Operations : Suicide Slum, Metropolis, DE.
Tag : ambush bug
Important Plots : None.
Journal(s) : the_ambush_bug
Status : Played

Powers and Abilities : Blessed (or cursed) with a strange suit of alien origin, Ambush Bug's only consistent power is a teleportation ability of undefined capability. The suit may also increase his ability to resist damage, but only when it's funny.

History : After 1992's Ambush Bug : Nothing Special, Ambush Bug more or less vanished from the DCU. He showed up in the Watchtower's DCU, apparently having had a wild ride through alternative Earths, only to discover he'd been the victim of a ret-con - his apartment building was now on the side of the street opposite where it had been. Since his triumphant return, Ambush Bug has been trying to warn heroes about the coming 'Un-Crisis', after which nothing interesting will ever happen again. He's also been trying to work his way onto a regular superteam, going so far as to try and adopt Batman's methods to become a better crimefighter. He remains a dedicated fan of Superman, though.

At CapeCon 2006, Ambush Bug took a blow to the head and temporarily believed himself to be Dweeb of the Lesser Endless, whose domain is Fandom. It remains to be seen whether or not there was any lasting brain damage.

Ambush Bug also hosts the irregularly-scheduled, semi-OOC episodes of Ambush Bug Presents, lampooning current Watchtower and comic universe events.

Other Sources :

Divergences : The origin of Ambush Bug's suit in the Watchtower DCU has actually been tied to Fifth Dimensional technology.

Notes : Several of Ambush Bug's key posts were damaged by LiveJournal's suspension of one of the Watchtower players, along with all his journals. Notably, there was a key scene with Brainiac Five that detailed information about Ambush Bug's suit, and a scene with the Joker that was just really, really funny. The entries for both of those characters contain zip files with archived copies of many of their posts - including their interaction with Ambush Bug.
